- "People die if they are killed." Explanation From a fansub's
◊ "Blind Idiot" Translation taken out of context. - Up until that point in the Fate route, Shirou had survived at least half a dozen near death experiences (including being disemboweled, stabbed through the heart, and cut clean through from shoulder to hip) through a magical Healing Factor. However, Shirou then gives up that power so Saber can use it to stand a chance against Gilgamesh. Thus, Shirou is just restating he's fine giving the power up, as he's already more than grateful for surviving more near death experiences than a person would normally ever expect to. People still make fun of Shirou and the "Blind Idiot" Translation though.
- Shiki Tohno: "Don't be ridiculous! Dead people can't be alive!"
- Nanako note from the Tsukihime quasi-sequel Kagetsu Tohya : "Eh—Th-th-that's ridiculous! First of all, that person doesn't even die when killed!"
- Rin Tohsaka: "She wouldn't die even if you kill her."
- Playable Caster: "All right! Now that this is all settled, we WILL survive until the end, even if it kills me!"
- Musashi: "There's no way I'm fighting an opponent who won't die even if you kill him!"
- Jaguar Man: "Hey you! You know Servants die if they are killed, right?"
- Kamina: "A real man never dies, even when he's killed!"
- Renji Abarai: "Even if we kill you, you probably wouldn't die."
- L: "The thing you have to do, is die before getting killed."(Ironically this phase actually makes much more sense given the premises of Death Note)
- Asuna Kagurazaka: "I've been always worried about when he would get injured, of if he would get killed... But now he won't die even if "he" is killed."
- Nice: "I'll kill you if you die again!"
- Tadakuni's sister: "Shut up! If you don't die right now, I'll kill you! If you don't wanna get killed, then die!"
- Hibiki Tachibana: "Then I'll come back alive, even if it kills me!"
- Maki Harukawa: "He's stupid enough to get himself killed, but I know he won't really die."
- Eitri: "It will kill you!" Thor: "Only if I die." Eitri: "Yes... that's what... killing you means..."
- Case in Point.
- Lord El-Melloi II: "You are dead if your head has been taken away."
- "Just because you're correct doesn't mean you're right." Explanation More oddly-translated wisdom from Shirou, this time from the official sub of the Unlimited Blade Works anime. In context, he meant something along the lines of "just because you've got your facts correct doesn't mean your conclusions are right".
- "The Archer class really is made up of Archers!" Explanation Another "lost in translation" moment, courtesy of Rin this time. It's a peculiarity of the Japanese language that using pronouns can be very casual and/or rude whereas using a person's name even when directly speaking to them is common. She calls Archer by his "name," but what she's saying is, "You really are an Archer!"
- This evolved into a sarcastic meme in Fate/Grand Order regarding the Archer class which has only a few actual archers. The Archer class is given to ranged fighters who don't rely on magecraft, so characters like Billy the Kid (a gun) or Nikola Tesla (science-based lightning) are considered Archers.
- The sarcasm gets further upon the inclusion of The Garden of Sinners's Asagami Fujino as an Archer-class Servant, yet she doesn't have anything in her to be an Archer (as she doesn't have a bow or any ranged weapons but has her telekinetic ability as her main method of attack instead), and some believes she fits more as Caster or Avenger instead.
- Swimsuit Jeanne is even worse, since was thought to be a given for the Rider class after the teaser trailer showed her riding a whale... but nope, she's an Archer, and her projectiles are dolphins.
- To add insult to injury, the former Grand Archer Orion turns out to use mostly his fists to destroy enemies.
- "When you have a birthday, you celebrate being born." Explanation Even Shirou's counterpart in the Prisma Illya universe is not immune to making these statements, though he's explaining this to Miyu, who never celebrated her birthday.
- The Fate tradition
! Explanation Building on all the above, fans have taken to compiling lines from as many Fate works as possible that are either out-of-context or poorly-translated to make it look like Fate dialogue basically consists of stupidly obvious observations or just schizoid nonsense. - GAY BULGE! Explanation The first anime's dub mispronounced "Gae Bolg", the name of Lancer's Noble Phantasm. Naturally, the Internet had a field day with this.
- "Alright, Shirou! Please put your... that! Y... Your pOnOs! To my... my... Here! .....My vagOOO!!! And J.. J... JAM IT IN!" Explanation A series of Fate/stay night parody comics makes it a Running Gag that Shirou frequently suffers Entendre Failure when faced with sexual innuendo, and one doujinshi in particular portrays him as ignorant of even basic understanding of the mechanics of sex, requiring this line from Saber. The O's in the words "penis" and "vagina" are supposed to be circles representing blank-space censorship.
- "...you lost me." Explanation A fancomic by Hiroyuki
, created as a parody/response to the above, has Shirou say this line in response to Rin and Saber trying to teach him how to perform the act. 1. Put pOnOs (A) to vagOOO (B).
2. JAM IT IN!
3. ?????
4. PROFIT!!!
- "...you lost me." Explanation A fancomic by Hiroyuki
- Recharge your mana. Explanation Mana is recharged through sex in Fate/stay night.
- LOL dragons. / LOL dolphins. / LOL sperm fish. Explanation Remember that Fate/stay night origins comes from an eroge of the same name and the anime adaptions of its storylines happen to have Bleached Underpants. This is how, during two obvious sex scenes... before anything risque shows up, you are treated to a show of a CGI dragon (in the Fate route anime), CGI dolphins (in the Unlimited Blade Works movie), or CGI fish that resemble sperm (Unlimited Blade Works anime) instead of the scene.
- Mana Transfer Dragon, the one used for Saber's scene in the anime, now has its own tag on Danbooru and similar sites.
- Is it OK to be gar for Archer? Explanation Someone misspelled "gay for Archer" and the misspelling stuck.
- GAR. Explanation An adjective describing manly characters who become Memetic Badasses via Perverse Sexual Lust.
- GARcher.
- Mapo tofu. Explanation A scene in Heaven's Feel when Kirei is caught eating the mapo tofu dish as if it was his ultimate life goal and somehow still manages to put Shirou on full guard. Even better with voice acting as Joji Nakata goes all the way with panting and "chomp chomp" sounds. This scene is then taken Up to Eleven in the first Heaven's Feel Movie. It's also referenced in Fate/kaleid liner PRISMA☆ILLYA Drei!!! as he runs an ultra expensive Mapo tofu shop.
- Kirei's rip off store. Explanation Anytime Kirei is selling anything, he will charge ridicious prices for it, infamously the Mapo Tofu he sees in Prisma Illya and the school uniform you need to get the true ending in Fate/EXTRA CCC.
- Unlimited ______ Works. Just fill in the blank with a noun and you can bring up wonders: Unlimited Häagen-Dazs Works, Unlimited Musket Works, Unlimited Every Military Weapon Works, and of course, Unlimited Blade Works. Bonus points if you created a special chant to go along with it.
- The anime is Unlimited Budget Works. Explanation Due to the Visual Effects Of Awesomeness by ufotable, people joke they've got unlimited funds for any of their works.
- Fill-in-the-blank Archer version: Expand
I am the bone of my sword.
Steel is my body, and fire is my blood.
I have created over a thousand blades.
Unknown to Death, nor known to Life.
Have withstood pain to create many weapons.
Yet, those hands will never hold anything.
So, as I pray, Unlimited Blade Works. - Fill-in-the-blank Shirou version: Expand
I am the bone of my sword.
Steel is my body, and fire is my blood.
I have created over a thousand blades.
Unaware of loss, nor aware of gain.
Withstood pain to create weapons, waiting for one's arrival.
I have no regrets. This is my only path.
My whole life was Unlimited Blade Works. - Unlimited Essay Works.
◊ Explanation An anon claimed that he turned in a page for his final paper of a writing class he was flunking using an altered UBW chant. - Did you mean "Bane"?
- Fall/Semester Mike.
- "I ask of you: Are you my Master?" Explanation This is mainly the first line EVERY servant states when they are summoned in ALL Fate series. Most notable during Saber's summoning in Fate/Zero and especially the Signature Scene in Fate/stay night.
- "This is a war which mucks around with women and children!" Explanation In the Fifth Fuyuki Holy Grail War, there are six children Masters and three female Servants; it is severely invoked by Gilgamesh.
- Erotical Black Hole. Explanation Popular nickname for Sakura in Heaven's Feel due to her seemingly endless sexual appetite combined with the Great Grail's resemblance to a black hole.
- Being Lancer is suffering. Explanation The Lancer class has "E-Rank" Luck Stat, and this presents itself story-wise as them being horribly shafted. Borrows from Puella Magi Madoka Magica. Surprisingly enough, more than half of the Servants that appear in the Nasuverse have the same rank in Luck, with only a few exceptions like Arturia Pendragon or Alexander the Great.
- By the end of Fate/Zero, it's become "Being everyone in Fate/zero is suffering." Because there's not a good end for ANYONE. Except Gilgamesh. (Unsurprisingly, both Fate/zero and Puella Magi Madoka Magica have the same writer, Gen Urobuchi).
- Being Lancer is wonderful. Explanation As of Fate/Apocrypha's release, this has taken a complete 180, since both of its Lancers, Vlad the Impaler and Karna, are respectively the strongest member of Black Team and one of the single most overpowered characters in the entire franchise, theorized to be able to take on GILGAMESH. It became a Discredited Meme following the conclusion of Apocrypha. On that note....
- Being Lancer is still suffering Explanation (Spoilers for Apocrypha) In the second volume, Vlad is stripped of his advantage, forced to use his Legend of Dracula Noble Phantasm against his will, and possessed by Darnic; despite fairing well against a total of six Servants at the same time, he, a Catholic, is soon dispatched by Shirou Kotomine AKA Amakusa Shirou Tokisada, a Catholic pseudo-saint. And on the other hand, despite Karna's much better performance, he's still stuck with a Master that he doesn't fully trust, got his servitude via underhanded means, and having to take the antagonist role. For the camp that liked him and also disliking Sieg, they also put 'being eventually beaten by Sieg' as another point of Karna's suffering.
- DR. GILGAMESH
. Explanation Gilgamesh's infamous "heart surgery" scene in UBW triggered a lot of "heart"-related jokes, often done by reversing scenes of him slaughtering his opponents to portray him as some kind of Super Doc who can heal any injury. - "You've stolen my heart." Explanation Joking about shipping Gilgamesh with Ilyasviel just because of the not-metaphor.
- KING OF HEROES, DO YOU HAVE ENOUGH SWORDS? Explanation A paraphrased/liberally translated version of Shirou's line in the Unlimited Blade Works route when facing off against Gilgamesh.
- Mongrels! Those swords are fucking patented! Explanation A flanderization of Gilgamesh's interaction with Shirou and Archer. Brought up in the Character Development Cliff Notes style of the Unlimited Blade Works route.
- Ha! Know your place, mongrel! Explanation Gilgamesh has a habit of referring to everyone else as "zasshu", which is usually translated as "mongrel" in English.
- Rejoice, Emiya Shirou
◊/Yorokobe, shounen! Explanation Kirei Kotomine's line towards Shirou at the start of Fate/stay night has turned into a memetic Catchphrase for the priest. - With the advent of Fate/Grand Order, this meme evolved to something akin to Naka-chan drops everywhere, due to Black Keys Craft Essence dropping pretty much in every 10-roll quartz gacha.
- Kirei's jogging in Fate/Zero's eighth episode has reached a memetic status among the fandom.
- "Kirei Kotomine is best girl/waifu" / "Where's Kirei Kotomine's Route?". Explanation The Fate series has prominent emphasis and fandom on attractive female characters. Kotomine is jokingly called a waifu for his badassery, being a Memetic Badass for every other meme he's listed on here for, and being one of the main characters who has a significant relationship to Shirou.
- WAGA ARU G. Explanation Lancer consistently refers to Kayneth with "waga aruji", or "milord".
- Team NTR. Explanation A Fan Nickname for team Kayneth, referring to how Sola-ui falls in love with Lancer. Said Lancer being Diarmuid Ua Duibhne, who's entire legend is also NTR, shouldn't have come as a surprise.
- KFC a.k.a. Kayneth's Fried Circuits. Explanation Kayneth was hit by a bullet of Kiritsugu's Mystic Code, shorting his Magic Circuits and - if he uses too much magic - raising the possibility of blowing out his body with overloaded prana. Too bad he had been doing exactly that.
- MOU IKKAI!
Explanation A cute little endlessly repeating animation featuring the song Sakuranbo, with the lyrics "mou ikkai"/"one more time". - Yuetsu!! Explanation The Japanese word for "pleasure", alternatively translated as "joy" or "entertainment"; one of the plotlines involves Gilgamesh making Kirei realize what exactly the source of these things is for him. It's probably a result of the frequent use and the Ho Yay that comes with it that made it into a memetic word among the fandom.
- Ancient Hindu Spaceships! Explanation Mutated form of the Yu-Gi-Oh! The Abridged Series Ancient Egyptian Laser Beams meme when referring to Gilgamesh's flying ship in Fate/Zero. Yes, it's at least grounded in true myth in the Ramayana.
- Happy Mother/Father/Children's Day, Kiritsugu! Explanation Fate/Zero had episodes that aired on Mother's Day, Father's Day, and Japan's Children's Day. In said episodes, Kiritsugu is forced to kill his adoptive mother, (Grail-created versions of) his family, and his childhood friend, respectively.
- UNLIMITED BUDGET WORKS Explanation With Ufotable adapting the full-length UBW anime and piggybacking off of the immense financial success of Fate/Zero, the animation in UBW was set to be very, very well funded.
- HEAVEN'S FUND or alternately, HEAVEN'S BUDGET Explanation With Ufotable also adapting the Heaven's Feel movie trilogy and taking into account the studio's reputation for high quality animation plus the budget they've earned from the UBW anime itself, people have been dead set on calling the adaptation of the third route this. Now that the first movie's out, fans everywhere all agree that Ufotable outdid themselves with the animation this time, with them even going so far as to say that it managed to surpass UBW's animation in quality.
- Historical Accuracy Explanation Due to the very system of the Grail calling upon copies of the heroes of all times to fight, many have some characteristics distinct to their mythical or historical depiction. Though plausible with some characters of the original VN, other entries in the franchise took it to its logical conclusion.
- (Insert violent sequence here): (IT'S) MORE FUN
◊ IN THE PHILIPPINES!
◊ Explanation It's a reference to both one of the Philippines' old tourism slogans, and the revelation that Alimango Island, where Kiritsugu's Start of Darkness took place, is an actual location from that country. Needless to say, a number of Filipinos couldn't resist. - HIGH BAR Explanation Rin and Sakura first fall in love with Shirou by watching him try to vault over a bar from the wrong side, not giving up despite trying and failing for hours. It's thus become common to have girls fall madly in love with him in crossovers or any other form of fiction just by jumping over a bar. It has been done before, though.
- DON'T THINK! IMAGINE!
◊ Explanation Illya sums up how magical girl powers work. Often used by fans as a Hand Wave concerning any breaks in logic. - IMASINE!
◊ Explanation The original airing of the episode misspelled "Imagine". The DVD release fixed this, but not before the Internet ran off with it.
- IMASINE!
- Tohsaka's anus. Explanation A...particularly memorable line from the H-scene in the Heaven's Feel route, seen here, along with a selection of other narmtastic Nasu quotes
(NSFW). This line is one of the several usually trotted out to support "Nasu can't write sex" as seen above. - Defenseless Explanation How said anus was described in the cutscene. It's since been spread out to apply to Rin in general as well as her pseudo-Servant incarnations... even though the H-scene is a dream conjured up by Rider so she could drain Shirou of some mana.
- TOHSAKA PLEASES OLD MEN FOR MONEY! Explanation Originating from a Doujinshi where Rin does just that, this phrase is posted in almost every Fate thread on /a/.
- 2017: The Year of Fate. Explanation With the announcement of the first Heaven's Feel movie, Part II of the Fate/Grand Order mobile game as well as it's US release, Fate/Extella: The Umbral Star, anime adaptations of Grand Order, Fate/EXTRA and Fate/Apocrypha, and an anime movie for Fate/kaleid liner PRISMA☆ILLYA all being released at different points in 2017, fans have proclaimed that 2017 is a great time to be a Fate fan.
- Mama Shirou. Explanation This line inevitably gets used in some form in any fanwork where Mordred ends up meeting her "father" Artoria and Shirou when the latter two are together. It really ups in hilarity when one remembers that Shirou pretty much is the "wife" in the relationship with his skills at cooking and housework.
- MamaMIYA. Explanation An extension of "Mama Shirou" to Shirou's future counterpart, Archer EMIYA. Frequently seen mothering all the Servants in Grand Order fanworks, including ones he normally hates.
- Queen Shirou. Explanation Taking the idea of Artoria and Shirou being together to its logical conclusion, since Artoria is the King of Britain, the other Knights of the Round Table often refer to Shirou as the new "queen".
- "Hey, that's Hell you are walking into." Explanation A phrase uttered by both Shirou and Archer while the former remembers that his wish to save others was his from the start in Episode 20 of Unlimited Blade Works. Normally used whenever someone discusses heroics or ideals (or Fate/Grand Order and its gatcha and grindiness).
- COOL!!/SAIKOU NO COOL!! Explanation Uryu likes to sprout that phrase for witnessing something horrendous, and Gilles caught on, what with his plethora of Eldritch Abomination. Hence, this phrase usually accompanies any witnessing of abominations that would make Gilles/Uryu jump in joy and admiration.
- Boys to MEN. Explanation The franchise's habit of showing its manliest heroes as borderline adorable children/teens in their younger years (save Waver, who is an adult) has not gone unnoticed. The series artists tend to play to this rule just as often out of canon as within— see Azusa and Murabito's April Fools jokes for example. It even extends to the dual nature of Charlemagne and Karl der Größe in Fate/Extella Link, where fans percieve the former to be the latter's "lily" variant.
- Iskandar is "DUDE". Explanation Well, for one thing, he's a total bro. The meme may have originated earlier, but in any case, in a scene
in Fate/Apocrypha, Waver's remarks to his absent friend were subbed/dubbed rather oddly as, "Heroes are those who do things driven by their ego. Like you, dude."
- Meet the Kouhai Explanation (SPOILERS) The scene from Lost Butterfly where Sakura Matou dreams about being a princess only to reveal that the "candy" she was supposedly eating is actually human limbs has been compared to TF2's Meet the Pyro.
- Diarmuid's Final Speech Explanation (SPOILERS) When Diarmuid was forced to commit suicide
, he went on a hateful rant of being utterly betrayed and launched a Dying Curse as his final middle finger to that betrayal. Turns out this ends up easily snowcloned with many betrayed bullied people making variations of his death curse. This is parodied once in Fate/Grand Order where Blackbeard parodied the quote; but the actual Memetic Mutation is from the 'bully victims', like either Ibaraki-douji or Demon God Pillar Barbatos, who were often 'bullied' by the players - Local Priest Refuses To Let Man's Girlfriend Get An Abortion. Explanation Final act of Heaven's Feel being summed as this since the entire route is an analogy for sexual abuse, which is then topped off by Kirei refusing to let Shirou stop Angra Mainyu from being "born" from Sakura.
- They got 3 SSRs and 1 SR in one roll Explanation The simultaneous summoning scene in the beginning of Fate/Zero is pretty awesome, but after Fate/Grand Order was released fans half jokingly complained about the Masters' incredible good luck of rolling extremely rare Servants in one summon when all they get from the infamously low-rate gacha were Craft Essences and low tier Servants, especially the much loathed Black Keys.
- Altria. Explanation This interpretation of F/SN Saber's real name was quickly laughed at when seen in promotion for the US version of Fate/Grand Order and the game itself, due to it being what Google Translate spits out when fed the Japanese character for Saber's name. Despite it being what Type-Moon apparently wanted, most people from the West prefer using Arturia or Artoria. Just try saying "Altria Alter" with a straight face. Even the localized version of Learning with Manga! FGO takes a jab on this.
- PADORU PADORU Explanation A meme originating from Fate/EXTRA. Nero's catchy Christmas cheer is very, very quotable. Around December every year, fan artists often replace Nero with a chibi Servant or character of their choice doing the same thing. This meme also spread to non-Type-MOON fandoms.
- Tamamo-no-Mae is now free Explanation On March 5th, 2022, the Sessho-seki, a legendary stone said to seal the corpse of Tamamo-no-Mae, was found to have split in half. Fan art of the titular Yokai from Fate/EXTRA breaking free of the Sessho-seki have been released ever since the news came out.
Tsukihime and Melty Blood
- This chair is an eyesore.
◊ Disappear! This chair. This chair. This chair. This chair. This chair. This chair. This chair. This chair. This chair. This chair. This chair. This chair. This chair. This chair. This chair. This chair. This chair. This chair. This chair. This chair. This chair. This chair. This chair. This chair. This chair. This chair. This chair. This chair. This chair. This chair. This chair. This chair. This chair. This chair. This chair. This chair. This chair. This chair. This chair. This chair. This chair. This chair. This chair. This chair! Explanation Originated from a scene in the visual novel where Shiki suddenly snaps and attacks a chair for irritating him. - "Isn't it sad, Sacchin~ ;_;" Explanation Originated from Satsuki Yumizuka and her role as the Unlucky Childhood Friend, misfortune, and lack of a route in the original games. Used in general to describe anyone who has been Demoted to Extra.
- "Isn't it great Sacchin?" Explanation It's been confirmed that Satsuki's route will finally be a reality in the second half of the remake, naturally leading to the previous meme being spun in a more positive note.
- "A cat is fine, too."
Explanation Appears in a lot of discussions relating to Half-Human Hybrids and the like, as well as variations that replace "cat". The line comes from a doujin by Hiroyuki in which a pedophile Shiki insists on trying to have sex with his familiar, who switches to her alternate cat form under pressure. This doesn't stop Shiki. - "SO MOE! I'M GONNA DIE!
" Explanation Same author, different doujin. - This exchange:
Shit, right?
It's shit. Explanation Infamous reaction image from Hiroyuki (again). Specifically, from Shiki looking at an image Ciel is holding that says "Curry + Ass" (referring to her anal scene), but he interprets it as the end result of the digestive system. Nrvnsqr does, too, for whatever reason.
- "SO MOE! I'M GONNA DIE!
- "There is no Tsukihime anime."
◊ Explanation The anime is widely considered to be an example of Adaptation Decay, and complaints are often to the point of wishing it had never been made. While reviewing the anime, Arkada also said, "This anime doesn't exist. In the same way that some movie sequels and prequels don't exist, this show doesn't exist." - "Isn't it sad that Carnival Phantasm is the ONLY Tsukihime anime?"
- "Rape the maids." Explanation Standard response to the question, "You wake up as Shiki. What do you do?" Mainly stems from a specific choice in the Ciel route where the game interprets "send Kohaku away with your dinner because you don't feel well" into "rape her".
- "You can't sexually harass maids." Explanation When Illya discovers that Miyu works as Luvia's Meido, Illya suffers Cuteness Overload and demands that Miyu come over immediately and in uniform. Hilarity Ensues, and Ruby says this line after Illya and Miyu end up in a compromising position.
- "Shiki can kill Servants. Discuss." Explanation Shiki (both of them) has the power to kill anything in existence. This power has been in question in the fandom as to whether it will allow Shiki to kill Servants. Arguments over these can get rather heated. Has evolved into "Shiki can kill X", or "X can kill Servants". (In case you were wondering, Shiki's eyes don't work on Servants, since his brain doesn't comprehend their existence, whereas "Akasha" Ryougi is directly linked to the Akashic Records, allowing hers to easily work on anything of "Earthly" origins. She's also among the top three strongest characters in the Nasuverse ... on a list that doesn't include Servants. And even though she's supposed to be nigh-omnipotent, Nasu said she could only put up a defensive fight against an average Servant. But of course, she could still kill them if she could land a hit on them, which she can't, except she can because she became a Servant ... Yeah.)
- Brainwashing Detective Hisui-chan. Explanation One typo from a Bad Ending (Anata wo hannin desu - You become the criminal. The original line is Anata wa hannin desu - You are the criminal.) lead to the creation of this Fan Nickname.
- Brainwashing-Detective appears in at least one artbook. The meme is also the basis for Hisui's Last Arc in Melty Blood. She even got her own segments in Carnival Phantasm.
- The Tohno Gland. Explanation Shiki has a penchant for attracting women for no reason. This is somewhat alluded to in the game; his bloodline repels normal humans but attracts those connected to the supernatural, Arihiko included.
- Suppress Roa in my ass! Explanation A line from a ridiculous sex scene with Ciel.
- BEST LEMON EVER. Explanation It is undeniable that Kinoko Nasu's works are awesome, but the same cannot be said for his H-Scenes, which at BEST are full of Narm. This later was Mis-blamed, but by then it was too late, as criticizing his Lemons is already memetic.
- YO DIS B ARCADE BUMSTEAD FROM TSUKIHIMAY I'D HIT IT. Explanation A Goofus and Gallant thread on 4chan churned out the phrase, and it stuck.
- Alternatively, Atari Dumbledore from Porkslope Turkeyhandle.
- Roastbeef Stroganoff/Strudelberg/Stringburger. Explanation Riesbyfe Stridberg's name is hard to remember.
- Porn with Plot. Explanation An old derogatory exclamation that has evolved to refer to eroge and visual novels in general.
- "SUGOI SUGOI!" Explanation Fanon states this as Aoko's catch phrase. It comes from Melty Blood where she shouts this line after air teching. Melty's combat system is heavily air-focused (hence the Fan Nickname "air footsies") and air teching happens a lot in a single match alone, resulting in her shouting "Sugoi Sugoi" over and over.
- Shiki Tohno: Lord of Bedroom Jackassery. Explanation Shiki is a more or less kind dude and relatively well-adjusted despite his sucky life... but he is NOT the gentlest lover in bed. Likely a result of the sex scenes being written by a different writer, but the jarring shift between the kindly Shiki the reader has come to know and the dominating, forceful Shiki in the sex scenes is very noticeable, giving rise to the meme.
- Tsukihime remake when? Explanation Since the day it was announced in 2008, people had been excitedly anticipating the release date of the reboot of the original Tsukihime visual novel and the redesigns and additional info on it Type-Moon posted back then only served to fuel the fire further. However, absolutely nothing more was heard of it for over a decade, leading to fans continuously spamming this question over and over again whenever it was brought up. Until 5 October 2019, when Nasu said during a Famitsu article that Tsukihime remake was in test play.
Which made people very happy. The meme truly died on December 31, 2020, when the remake was announced to be released in 2021. It finally, finally happened in August 2021, fully 13 years on. - Neco Arc Explanation The infamous chibi catgirl joke version of Arcueid that appears in the "Teach Me, Ciel-Senpai" segments of Tsukihime and was later playable in Melty Blood. Around late 2021 she suddenly became a living meme due to her nonstandard (by Nasuverse standards) characer design along with her cutesy voice, wacky phrases ("Gurenyuuu~" and "DORIDORIDORIDORI" most notably) and, in Melty Blood, completely loopy powerset.
- Neco Arc's humansona Explanation Neco Arc's popularity has outstripped Arcueid's so much so that memes have popped up pretending that Arcueid is the spinoff version of Neco Arc, or her "humansona" (spawning from one tweet from someone unfamiliar with Arcueid in general.)
- Neco Arc is full of Pilk Explanation Mixing milk and Pepsi together. Already a meme in itself, it became tied with Neco Arc around the time she exploded in popularity. Memes have arisen considering pilk to be her favorite drink or her equivalent of blood.
- It's-a me, Mario! Explanation Due to the One Mario Limit, the reveal of Mario Gallo Bestino immediately gave him comparisons to a certain Italian plumber.
Carnival Phantasm
- Kimi to isshou ga ichiban~! Explanation the opening line of Super ☆ Affection, Carnival Phantasm's ridiculously catchy OP.
- The song aside, the animation for the OP itself has numerous parodies using characters from other anime.
- Don't forget the ED — the animation for the ED ALSO has a lot of parodies using characters from other Nasuverse works.
- "Lancer ga shinda!" "Kono hitodenashi!" Explanation "Lancer died!" "You bastards!" In practically every episode, poor Cú Chulainn is a Cosmic Plaything who gets killed, sometimes randomly. The lines itself are directly based upon the Japanese Dub of South Park, to be more specific the gag involving Kenny's deaths, further reinforcing his status. This can easily be snowcloned in comics whenever a Servant of other class dies hilariously, and then they replace Lancer in that phrase. Example: "Archer ga shinda!" or "Jeanne ga shinda!" A popular fansub erroneously interprets/translates the second line as "kono hito de nashi", "you aren't human!" and so this is how the meme is often written, but "hitodenashi" is supposed to be one word.
- How to make Cú Chulainn survive: have him not be a Lancer. Explanation The first version of Cú Chulainn that appears in Fate/Grand Order is him as a Caster, and he proceeds to not only defeat every Servant he goes up against, but even survives to the end of the story arc as the "winner" of that Holy Grail War. Compare this to every other appearance Cú Chulainn has made across the franchise, in which he is a Lancer, but always ends up dying. This also reminds you that Gae Bolg is a Cursed weapon. This ends up being a Discredited Meme in the wake of Fate/Grand Carnival, where not only Cú Chulainn repeats the joke, his Prototype self, his Caster self and the more serious Berserker/Alter self are not excluded from the 'Dying for Carnival comedy' curse, but with a ray of hope of being credible again: his younger self, Setanta, was announced for the Arcade after the airing of the pilot episode, and he's also a Saber, so it may evolve into: "How to make Cú Chulainn survive: Turn him into a kid"
- GRAIL/SEIHAI-KUN!!

- Mushroom/Mushroom Eggplant/Mushroom Eggplant Wizard Explanation Kinoko Nasu is identical to the pronunciation of "Mushroom Eggplant," hence the nickname Mushroom Eggplant Wizard. This matches Nasu's avatar, a yellow and green mushroom, and mushrooms are often found the spinoff content, such as the Illya's Castle minigame.
- Nasu has a giantess fetish Explanation A joke about the ever-increasing number of Giant Women across different works, suggesting that Nasu has a fetish for them. This can be applied to other uncannily recurring things like vore.
